I love traditions. I feel like most of us do. We all have those family traditions that we look back fondly on whether it’s something as simple as mom always letting you lick the beater after she made cookies (thank God we didn’t get salmonella, right?) or something so different and complex that only your family would understand.
One way to make our kids feel more connected to their faith is to incorporate uniquely Catholic traditions within the home. Some can be simple such as lighting a prayer candle before bed but some can be more elaborate.
The Catholic Church has given us the beautiful liturgical calendar to give special significance to different times of the year. I plan to look through the year and find simple and intricate ways to incorporate the liturgical calendar into our homes.
